Cold enameling is a great way to add color to your creations. This technology is a veritable “gold mine” for designers who wish to bring excitement into their work. Cold enamel is a pigmented epoxy resin which gives the effect of enamel without heating with a kiln or a torch at high temperatures. An enameled effect can be applied to a wide range of materials.

Die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is poured or forced into steel molds. The molds—also known as tools or dies—are created using steel and are specially designed for each project. When you cast a part, you can create complex net shapes, including external threads and complex internal features with minimal draft angles—minimizing secondary operations. Zinc, aluminum, and magnesium are the three commonly used die casting alloys.

ETCHING

Etching is a method of making prints from a metal plate, usually copper. The copperplate is first coated with an acid-resistant substance, called the etching ground, through which the design is drawn with a sharp tool. The plate is then exposed to nitric acid or dutch mordant, which eats away those areas of the plate unprotected by the ground, forming a pattern of recessed lines. These lines hold the ink, and, when the plate is applied to moist paper, the design transfers to the paper, making a finished print.

DIAMOND (STONE) SETTING

URUSHI

Urushi is a kind of natural paint which is gathered and made from the sap of Urushi trees. It is a rather previous substance as only a very small amount of sap can be collected from each tree. Urushi lacquer has a unique luster and provides great protection for anything that it is applied up-on, and can be applied upon practically any surface. When the Urushi dries, it provides a hard coating that is waterproof and protects the coated object against mold and weather conditions. It will even protect the object against substances such as acids. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause the Urushi lacquer to deteriorate.
